Mandrake 10.1 modem problem
Greetings! I am new to Linux so I will not try to attempt to know anything. I installed Mandriva 10.1 yesterday and am having difficulty with my modem. It seems that Mandriva did not recognize my modem, which is a "winmodem" Conexant D850 56k V.9xDFVc. My system is a Dell system:
Dimension 2400, Intel Pentium 4 CPU
256MB DDR SDRAM @333Mhz
A940 inkjet printer (Mandrake does not recognize this also)
80GB 7200 RPM Ultra ATA Hard Drive
56K PCI Fax Modem
Artec 12x DVD+/-RW E-IDE/ATAPI
I am using the KDE desktop with Linux.
I have a dual-boot system using both Win XP Home/Mandriva 10.1
As far as the modem problem goes, I have updated the driver but still Mandriva does not recognize it so I am unable to connect to the internet. I always get a message "modem is busy".
Any help would be kindly appreciated!
Regards,
Bob :D
