How to install newer version of PHP on MDL 10.1?
Hi, no need to say that I am a Linux newbie...
Recently, I have installed a Mandrake Linux 10.1 on my system, because I develop PHP. Well, I used to develop on Wun machines, but since most of the hosting companies I host my sites on work on Linux - I figured it would do me some good to figure out how the X environment works...
So, far I realised that on my MDL machine I have installed Apache 2.0.something and a 4.3.8 PHP...
Well, I want to install newer version (in this case it would be 4.3.11) but when browsing these forums I figured out few things:
1. I need to uninstall previous version before continuing with the installation of the new one, and
2. I have to install it from the Terminal...
Well, the trouble is - I can't find where previous version is installed or how does it even look, not to mention how to unistall it...
2nd part would be somewhat easier since I have PHP manual to tell me how to configure instalation of PHP...
Can anybody help me with this?
