Mandriva 10.1 on IBM SAN

Hello everyone

Has anyone installed Mandriva 10.1 on an IBM HS20 Blade server using QLA2312 fibre cards attached to an IBM DS4300 SAN device?
There are no internal harddrives to the HS20.

The install of Mandrake goes very welll, until it needs to reboot.
Lilo (or Grub) starts fine but then it can't mount the root partition

error 6 mounting ext3

Then the friendly Kernel panic...

The rescue disk mounts everything fine.
I have tried re-installe the boot loader, but no luck.
I see all the correct modules being loaded the ext3 module and the QLA23xx module.

Please let me know if anyone has got this working? Or if more information is required let me know what you need.

I just installed an internal SCSI drive, and it has no problem booting off that.
So it must be something to do with connecting to the SAN.
BTW the Model number of the blade is 8843-11U

Tried Mandriva 2005 (Mandrake 10.2), same problem.
Got it working in SuSE thought... wierd.
