Admitted Linux Newbie : Configuring Apache FTP
Hello Everyone:
Yes, I am a Linux newbie, and I am enjoying it. I am however, having a problem with finding where to configure things in regard to Apache's FTP Server. I am running Mandrake/Mandriva 10.1 and Apache 2.0. I was able to configure the http part - I found the httpd.conf file( although for some reason for me it's httpd2.conf )- but I am unable to find the illustrious ftpd.conf file. What I would like to do is to create some virtual/alias directories mapping to different file system areas, and cinfigure the permissions to those.
Note, that my FTP server is accessible from the outside at this time, so no configuration is needed there. That was something happened "right of the DVD". Let me know if I can provide any more information!
Thank you!

I installed proftpd and that worked straight off - you could try installing that.
