Problem with localhost
Hello !
First i'm sorry for my bad english i'm french =]
I've a problem with mandriva LE2005
when i launch my pc, when i launch the consol it's written xerox@vigor2
if y reboot my pc and if i remove my network cable (rj45) it's written xerox@localhost and if i put again the network cable it's written xerox@vigor2
Is it normal ? Is it possible to be connected to a server without knowing it ??
Help me =[

When your network cable is plugged in, the console will show your computers hostname. In your case, when your computer is connected to your network, it is called vigor2. However, when not connected to a LAN, all linux computers default to the hostname localhost.
This is due to unix being designed to work in a networked environment from the start, much unlike windows :P
hope this helps.
