Mandriva LE 2005 installed, issues with sound
Hia ll,
I've just completed a clean install of LE 2005 but the sound config is picking up the disconnected on-board sound card in my machine as well as the SB Live card, which is the one that actually works, meaning I get no sound except when I insert a music CD in the CD drive. In SUSE 9.2 I got around this by deleting the on-board card in YaST, how do I do this in Mandriva? All that's wrong is it's looking at the wrong device, I just need to point it to the correct one.
Also, is LE 2005 supposed to not have icons for the CD Rom drives on the desktop?

This issue is now resolved.I fixed it by re-installing 10.1 official and using the LE 2005 disk to "upgrade".

Just to mention: the easiest way to get rid of annoying on-board hardware such as the soundcard you mentioned is to turn it off in the BIOS settings. This also applies for graphic cards, network cards, etc.
