Nvidia Install Problems

alright this may be reptitve but i can find the answer to my problem. i have found soemwhere that says someone had a similar problem. so i tried their steps which basically involved checking the kernel source files making sure they match, and then installing. i checked and here is waht i have.

Now i noticed the last char before mdk is idfferent. one is 6 and one is 1. However, it appears as though they said this was fine. i have uninstalled and reinstalled to make sure. wehn i try to install the nvidia drivers it says cant load nvidia.ko and this may be because of my src files. very frustrating at this point. i have always tried to use linux, but it always seems as though some minor detail like this holds me back. I actually bought and paid for mandrake 7.1 back in the day. thats how long i have been trying to convert from M$. thinking things would have been better, it looks as though they stay the same, with a better gui. plz help me. i will post my nvidia log shortly.
