Having trouble trying to get on Internet

I have install Linux on my machine and have been satisfied. Now I am trying to connect to Internet using dialup. I entered all of the necessary phone numbers and login info and password. While configuring, it asks me whether I want to connect to the Internet. I say yes, but my modem is always busy. I don't have this problem in Windows. I am able to connect just fine.

if its a winmodem you may have to do some additional work to get it going. Search for winmodems in linux or linmodems and you should find what you need.
    Operating System: GNU Emacs
