Mandriva LE 2005 i586 DVD wont install on AMD 3500+
I have installed mandriva on my p3 from the dvd i am trying to install on my amd. I get to the first screen with the progress bar and it stalls halfway for about 6 minutes, then i get a error. Fatal Error Finishing Initialization. So i go to view the logs and it shows this...

*Third Party: No device Detected for Module a320 raid, skipping

*Unsetting Automatic
*Exiting Bootsplash
weird because mandrake 10.1 RC1 installs fine but is way too buggy for me.

You using SATA RAID configuration?

no SATA at all, just my 2 ide drives

you don't have any funny RAID configuration with those drives do you? It looks like it's probing for RAID drivers. That's weird. How far through the install were you?

yea, dont know why it would be probing for RAID, my 2 hdd's are set master and slave. Very weird, mandrake 10.1 installs just fine but latest version gets hung at that one point. :/

well, i have figured out my problem. Either the iso got corrupt or th media was too crappy. I redownloaded from a different source and burned to a G04 so all good now
