    Sorry for double post. Ok I did the repair thingy and every thing and now I can log into KDE and have GUI. But one thing. My log on screen is not GUI. Its still command line text style. I have to type adam then password then enter and stuff. I don't mind doing it that way but I would like to have the log on screen GUI. So how would I do that?

    Also where does mandriva keep all the apps it installs like firefox?

    Once you are in KDE, u can set up login config from the menus. There should be a option somewhere that lets you select 'graphical login' and other stuff such as automatic login.

    Thank you very much! it worked but now I got another problem. My sound was working but now its not. I hear no sound. I went to its mixing and turned every thing up but no sound..........

    I'm using soundblaster audigy 2 zs. Driver is Driver
    Module: ‎snd-emu10k1
    Alternative drivers: ‎audigy, emu10k1.

    It finds it and every thing. I wonder if somthing is muting my sound though but what?

    any help??

    I fixed my audio problem. Realplayer was muting my sound so now I got sound again so thank you guys for all the help.
