Help needed with codecs installation...
I have downloaded and extracted the "essential codec pack" for MPlayer to the /usr/local/lib/codecs directory as the README says but my MPlayer is still not able to
find the codecs needed to play video files...
In the same README file is written that there should be some configuring with the ./configure command but I don't know how to use it and it seems to me that it's
not working at all....
Can somebody tell me what to do?

you have to install the codecs before mplayer. Try installing mplayer again

Yep. If you have the GUI as well I would also uninstall that (mplayer-gui). Then as you say just re-install...

Weird, for me the codecs had to be put in /usr/lib/win32 o_O
Anyway, as long as it works for you too...
