Updating Mandrake 10 to Mandriva LE: SEEERIOUS problems
Hi guys,
I'M having a SEEEEERIOUS problem here.
I started with a Mandrake 9.2, upgraded to 10 and have just updated to 10.2 (Mandriva LE). I have a XP partition too on a Intel PIV platform
The graphical interface isn't starting at all. It keeps showing the sand clock.
It starts (very slowly: 10min to get to KDE desktop) on the old-linux partition but the GUI shows as if I was on the 10.2 version (how?!!!)
can't connect to Internet
can't mount anything
many applications don't lauch
my questions are:
1)
if I choose the "installation" option istead of "upgrading"
will I loosing all my /home?
2)
is there a way to uninstall the old version
re-install the 10.2 without loosing all my /home
please someone! help! (I need somebody...help...)
thanks guys!!!

You should be able to tell the 'Install' option to use your /home partition but not format it and lose the data.

Maybe for safety, during the installation, chose a username different from that of your previous home directory ?
