installing firefox 1.04 in LE2005

hi i've download the firefox-1.0.4.installer.tar.gz
and i've following instruction in firefox web. here the instruction:
tar -xzvf firefox-1.0.4.installer.tar.gz
cd firefox-installer
./firefox-installer

but i get error and can't install it

Something more simple:
-go to http://rpm.pbone.net/.
-use that libstdc++.so.5 as a search word.
-choose your distro from the list.
-choose a mirror and download and install the rpm.
-try installing again (it should work now).

I got my firefox installed that way.

another question, how can i make a shortcut like on the desktop to the new firefox i just installed?

how exactly?
What happens if you try to boot it from terminal program. Any errors? Or do you mean that it doesn't react in any way when you try to boot it?
