Mandrake 10.1 install hangs on re-boot?
I am a newbie to Linux and have the official Mandrake 10.1 distro.
This appears to install OK but it hangs on re-boot at the prompt
'checking for new hardware'.
The only way to get out of this is to press reset.
Mandrake is set up on my second hard drive and has the first 100GB partition all to itself.
Any advice much appreciated.
Regards to all

PS REBOOTED ONCE - error reported: KMix caused signal 8 (SIGFPE)
What can I do about this Linux friends?

can you try to run an interactive boot?
During boot it says after a while: "Press I for interactive boot"
(or something similar)
Then when you get a question asking: "checking for new hardware"
(or something similar) choose not to
choose yes for everything else
