installing thunderbird

Hello, I am using Fedora Core 3, so I apologize for posting in the wrong forum, but I have been facing the exact same problem. When I try to run ./thunderbird from the thunderbird directory that I extracted the tarball into, it gives me the following error:

./thunderbird-bin&#58; error while loading shared libraries&#58; libXp.so.6&#58; cannot open shared object file&#58; No such file or directory

Any idea what I can do to resolve this problem? Any help is much appreciated.

you probably will need to download that particular library, or you will have to execute that command as root.

I have the same problem he has. I do have the run-mozilla.sh and i type './run-mozilla.sh'. It tells me Cannot execute.

And i believe i got the other error about the library, which brings me to the question 'how do you install a library in linux?'
