    samba amd mandriva 10.2

    hello:
I installed in mandrake 10.2. with samba I am able to open shared files in thw window system. however when I try to mount them I do not see those entries in /etc/mtab and I cannot access them through the command line.

also when i boot up smb file system fails to mount and I get some message wrong file type.

also I do not see any smb.conf file in /etc/samba

by the way is the log messages during boot up saved some where?

    thanx
