When I installed Mandrake 10.1, it asked for 4 CD's (fourth with KDE 3.3 on it), but linuxquestions and all other download sites only provide 3 ISO's. Am I missing ...

You should be fine with 3 CDs, unless you wanted to install KDE 3.3. If not, go with the 3 CDs and you should be good to go.

Yes, you can still use KDE, it will just install version 3.2.

I've found Mandriva LE 2005 to be a little buggy, but that's just my opinion.

no 4th cd
you will be fine with the 3 cd set.
kde 3.3 is the super newest and is not being given away free yet.
the fourth cd only comes with the distro you buy from mandriva
kde 3.3 will probably be free once it's been around a while.
you may be able to get it as an update or from urpmi now or very soon.
