hi i have installed an network card the other day and mandriva 10.1 has recognized it straight away my questions are
Do i have to install any drivers for it?

Does it need some sort of pecial configuration?

Well if you want to use it, you will have to configure it using the mandrake control center. You will have to do some extra fiddling, if it is a wireless card though.

network card
how do i do that coz i am new to linux it isnt i wireless one! what do i actaully need to configure?

You need to assign an IP address to it...

Well since it is a wired one, you will have to set up its IP address, gateway and the like all of which can be done through the MCC. From memory, then method for setting it up is under the network option in the mcc, here select a new lan connection, then let it choose the driver, and then you can configure it with its ip address and the like.
