info command not working

i tried reinstalling mandrake 10 with all options on???

please guide me.

i always get error bash: info: command not found

Go ahead and install "texinfo", that's what you're needing. Once it's installed, problem solved

For manually installing, you need to be root and type the following command:

rpm -Ivh texinfo-4.3-3mdk.i586.rpm

i did install it but a diffversion

rpm -ivh texinfo-4.7-2mdk.i586.rpm

but still info command does not work..

Sorry, my mistake.. it's not the "texinfo" package, it's the "info" package. It's just that in other distributions the "info" program comes with the texinfo package.
