samba authentication
I am trying to get samba working with my windows xp machine. I can see the samba share, but when I try to access it it prompts me for a username and password.. I am trying my linux user/pw (which is the same as my xp box) and no luck. I remember once in the past having this problem and I had to add a samba user or something, I just do not remember the syntax for it.. anyone have any suggestions?

try:
smbpasswd -a username
The user has to be a user on the machine already.
