Mandrake 10 Unable to mount boot volume
I get a Unable to mount boot volume message when trying to start XP (although I don't get it until right before the login screen). I also end up with mandrake freezing during the boot process. Would this be more likely to be due to the hdd or the boot loader?

Post your lilo.conf (or menu.lst if you use grub) file if you can so that we can look at it.

I actually ended up doing a fdisk /mbr to see if that was the cause of it - and the computer still gave me a bsod saying unmountable boot volume. Im starting to think that I need a new hdd.
