im having trouble with this too i d/l rpms and they said i was missing dependencies or it said failed dependencies what does yours say btw i only had a little problem installing the tar.gz files

What I meant is to enter as root into the terminal:
then download the kde libs and kdebase. However, best way is to download an rpm and install it with an:Code:urpmi kde
Code:rpm -iv kde-3-4.rpm

make sure u install arts first then second libs and run ldconfig as root then you can add the last of the necessities kdebase after that install the rest of packages.rpm
