    no mixer selected?

    Hey, guys, i just instaleld mandrake 2005 LE on my laptop with that dreadful sound card atiixp. it was fine for the night, i was happy. but next they i knew, when i started up my laptop this morning, kmix said" no mixer found."

    any idea of what's going on here?

    or is atiixp just that cursed....

    I presume you are using alsa instead of oss? If so, run:
    Code:
    alsaconf
    and configure your card. Then run...
    Code:
    alsamixer
    To set your levels. Once you've got your sound the way you want it, you'll need to save it to a config file so it will be there on each subsequent boot...
