Argggh, no keyboard repeat
Where to set the keyboard repeat rate, my keyboard does not repeat atall. Wow, I am having so many problems getting Linux running on this machine (a Dell dimension 2400.) I am thinking it would be easier to get a new machine.

Try
Menu>System>Configuration>KDE>Peripherals>Keyboard
and choose the parameters that suit you best.
