    Mandrake 10.1 on vmware


    Hi, i just installed mandrake linux 10.1 on vmware and i get this message saying it cant find my screen or whatever. i only get this message when typing startx

    on my labtop it was the same but i took the resolution down and selected a screen driver and it worked.. ive read that you gotta install something called vmware-linux-tools.tar is this true..? if anyone can help me it would be great. thx

    ps imma noob.

    try to run XFdrake from root user and configure your screen.

    What does you /ect/X11/xorg.conf file look like? Do you need GL support? What are you trying to do with it? Maybe just go vesa.
