- 08-28-2005 #21I don't think you'll get any knocks on your door as long as your watching DVD's you've either bought or rented but should you decide to use libdvdcss for means of reproducing/redistributing DVD's they'll come a knocking.

i had similar funny problems with xandros , and surprizingly with slakware
and ubuntu distros.
i wasted all those cd's burning the image files. But non of them got installed.
These images .iso's came with a reputed PC mag. I know how u r feeling.
Now have settled for mandrake 9.2 untill someone gives me someting tested and working on their system.

did you try the noapic and acpi=off options? Also, did you check the md5sum of the iso's before burning?
If you like Mandrake, try Mandrake 10.1 or if you want a different rpm based distro, try SuSE.Life is complex, it has a real part and an imaginary part.
