system tray in gnome
I just got Mandrake 10.1, and installed gnome to use instead of KDE. Two things I need to know are:
How to get a system tray (so I can re-open gaim and stuff) and how to make everything not so big. My resolution is 1280x1024 but it looks horrible.

Did you try to *Add* all to the gnome-panel ? It's a good way to discover things, the Tray should be there in the list. As for the size - Right Click on the tray or whatever - and chose the size in the *Size* option !

Also, you might have to activate an option in gaim so it minimizes to the sistem tray.

Icons
I'm using Mandriva 2005 and I can resize my icons to make it look a little better just by right clicking the icon and clicking "stretch icon". This could help with why things look so big, I use shortcut keys for opening most of my apps though so I have like 4 icons, lol.
