Wine in Mandrake (Mandriva) 2005 LE
OK. I'm sure this has probably been asked, and answered somewhere, but I'm unsure as to where, and I've a short attention span...
Is it necessary that I log in as root to install Windows based programs using Wine? It seems a bit ridiculous, as Mandrake asked if I wanted this set up as a single user computer, but, is that the problem? Nothing will install. Says something to the effect of "access denied."
Thanks, in advance, for any and all replies/advice.

That depends on where you're trying to install the Window program. If your virtual c drive is located somewhere that only root has access to (ie, outside of ~), then you'll need to be root to install.
