Wine configuration
I downloaded and installed wine for Mandriva LE 2005. I have a question, Can I run programas without a configuration ? Must I config wine to run on Mandriva ? I read on WINEHQ.COM and it saids that I must copy the dir_to_wine_source_code/documentation/samples/config ~/.wine/config but I can't find it. Some references ?

Not quite sure if I understand you properly, but in my experience Wine isn't that distro-specific. If you install it correctly it will work on any distro.
It only seems to be good for fairly ordinary executables like - for eg. - a Windows text editor or a URL checking programme.
I've had it running Photoshop before now with some success. If you're thinking of using it for games you might prefer to try Cedega (which used to be called WineX).
That might help a bit
EDIT: Okay - there are more distro-specific binaries for Wine
So installing it as an RPM would be good. Try looking here.

- 10-07-2005 #5Cedega is a 'fork' of the WINE project, so you pay to download and use it. Once it's paid for, there are no serious legal threats. As long as you are running a game which you have obtained legally, you are entitled to run it on Cedega.

Of course, you need to be sure of your own country's laws before going ahead and loading things up, but I can't imagine that there is a problem.I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it. - Pablo Picasso
