Mouse problem with Mandrake linux
Hi i am using Mandrake Linux 10.1and i have a PS/2, 2 button scroll mouse. It was working fine previoulsy but for a few days at boot-up the mouse doesn't work i have to run drakconf and select the mouse type again( i select Generic PS/2 Wheel mouse and that's what it was previously) after which it works perfect till the next boot. I don't have a clue what's going on can anybody help me about it.
Thanks

Ah, I was taught a parable from very early on. It is that a distribution which gives you two or more problems is not for you.
And that Mandriva sucks.
Yes, that last one was purly subjective.

There is a driver in 10.1, I think it is something like Universal PS2 or USB
you should use that one, as it will run any connected mouse. I used to have troubles with individual mouse drivers early on (in 9.0 say). This universal driver is much more stable and more friendly to running the mouse. Also can you post back the results of(I think...from memory and I don't have much of that....Code:lsmod |grep evdev
)
