Mandrake 10.1 network problem
Hi
Mine probelem is that I cannot connedt to internet. Ifconfig shows that my network card has an IP number and everything is otherwise in order even the DNS server is found, but I cannot connect to internet. I am able to ping 127.0.0.1 but nothing else. I have a little icon on my taskbar that says the network is down. Please configure your network and so on.
My network card is Realtek 8139 and the driver OS is using is 8139too. Modprobe doesn't show any problems. I even removed my modem because I that it would cause some problems. I have DSL connection through Telewell EA-510 (wired). My other computer works just fine with same settings.
Can anyone help?

Im very new to linux myself and had similar problem yesterday.
Try going to ¨configure your computer¨ -> ¨network and internet¨ -> ¨new connection¨
when asked to specify ISP just choose anyone (that was the place where i got stuck...)
then you can configure the connection
