amarok wont install

i downloaded the latest version of amarok 1.2.4 (there are some annoying bugs on the version i had 1.2.2) but the install software starting but not installing the rpm package.
what do i need to do in order to make it install the program?

does it give you any error when trying to install the rpm? how are you installing it? is it by:

Code:

rpm -ivh file_name.rpm

You could also try using urpmi to get amarok as root with:

urpmi amarok

well, it tried the rpm -ivh command, and it showed me that i need some packages. after a bit of trouble i managed to get them and now amarok work. thanks.

the funny part is that i wanted the 1.2.4 version because i thought it got a fix of a bug that annoyed me, but the bug remains...all this trouble for nothing

for future reference, with the urpmi command, it will get those additional packages for you.

You could always contact the makers of amarok with your bug and let them know of its exitance, or you could download the source code and fix the bug yourself.
