    Mail Strorage


    hi
    i am using the kmail in my mandrakelinux system and i have the kmail configured and receiving the mails on this .Now i want to change the opertring ssystem to the redhat linux and i want to retain the mails into my new operating system for that i want to know where the mails are stoerd so that i can take the backup of the mails . So i want to know the location or the directory as to where the miails are stoerd in the hard disk.

    kmail is kind of a pain to backup/restore, but it's totally do-able. Mail is stored in ~/.Mail or ~/.mail. Folders and the such are stored in ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail and finally, you need to backup the kmailrc file, stored at ~/.kde/share/config/kmailrc

    Make sure you backup all of these directories recursivley, or you'll loose sub-folders and emails.
