Mandrake 10.1 on Microsoft Virtual PC
Hi Guys/Girls,
I am trying to install Mandrake 10.1 on MS Virtual PC under Windows XP.
For some reason it just doesnt recognise disk 2 - it sees disk 1 and 3 fine, but,if I skip disk 2 it doesn't let me boot.
I know disk 2 is definately working as I have installed it as the primary OS on another pc.
Any suggestions?

How old is the cd drive, and is the disk a different color from the others? Some older CD-ROM drives are picky about reading colored discs and some of them just don't like burnable cds period.

I have 2 optical drives - one is an LG 52x cd-rom thats about 18 months old,and the other is an LG DVD-RAM drive, which is about 8 months old.
All the disks are the same colour.

Sorted the problem - created ISO's from the cd's and let Virtual PC read those off the HDD and it's working fine now.
