Can't get W.I.N.E to install in Mandriva 2006
Hi Guy/Gals,
I'm trying to install W.I.N.E into Mandriva 2006 but keep hitting errors. When I try from the installion DVD I get the message "Some package code request cannot be installed:WINE-20050725-6mdk.i586 (due to unsatisfied libwine_unicode.so1)"
When I try urpmi I get "Sorry, the following package(s) can't be selected:
xwine-1.0.1-1mdk.i586 (due to unsatisfied wine)"
Any ideas?

I resolved this by downloading direct from the W.I.N.E website but it was all for nothing because, as usual in Mandriva, W.I.N.E won't run anything (unlike other distros).

What exactly are you trying to run and what error messages are you getting?

I'm trying to run some games, the only thing that'll run is the Windows copy of Firefox.Anything else just silently crashes/fails,no error messages. However, when the try in Fedora using WINE, some of those same games will run, not very well, but they run.
