    install xfree86?

    I use:
    sudo rm -rf /usr/X11R6 /etc/X11 /Applications/XDarwin.app and now when i type startx it doesnt understand the command. ok

    now:

    how to install XFree86 4.5.0 (http://www.xfree86.org/releases/rel450.html) on Mandirva 2006? will it be easier to format disk and reinstall system?

    Did you want to install XFree86 specifically or did you want to go back to X.org?

    If you want to go back to X.org, the rpms should be on one of the disks. Install those by typing in the following at the command line as root:

    rpm -ihv <name of X.org rpm&#40;s&#41;>
