Are you absolutely sure your 3D drivers are working? What FPS do you get when you run glxgears? What is the output when you run the following:
Code:glxinfo | grep rendering

after glxgears:
after glxinfo | grep rendering442 frames in 5.0 seconds = 88.341 FPS
634 frames in 5.0 seconds = 126.723 FPS
638 frames in 5.0 seconds = 127.552 FPS
638 frames in 5.0 seconds = 127.503 FPS
but when i loaded xorg, conf (the one before installing that ati-drivers) it shows:direct rendering: No
but it also says direct rendering : no478 frames in 5.0 seconds = 95.199 FPS
1217 frames in 5.0 seconds = 243.305 FPS
1294 frames in 5.0 seconds = 258.719 FPS
1284 frames in 5.0 seconds = 256.771 FPS
456 frames in 5.0 seconds = 91.139 FPS
1291 frames in 5.0 seconds = 258.038 FPS
so what does it mean? (1 results are with xorg.conf made by fglrxconfig (after instaling drivers) and the 2 are with old, just after system installation, xorg.conf)

The direct rendering: no means that although you may have installed the 3D drivers from ATI, they aren't working.

how to make it running?
- 12-09-2005 #6That's a good question, and I don't have an answer. Stick around. I'm sure we have some other ATI users out there.
