My artsd sound server crashed during the start up of Linux (during the splash screen) and the only way that I could use my computer was to disable the sound server when it asked me what to do, but now I don't get any system notifications like when my computer starts up or shuts down or when I get new E-mails. Is there any way to turn the artsd sound server back on? I am using Mandrake 10.1 with KDE 3.2
