mandriva 2006 problem

hello i have a problem with installing the mandriva 2006.need help it boot but freezees.the screen shows this
mount error 22 mounting
warning unable to open an initial console
kernel panic not syncing
no init found

Not sure I understand your situation... did you get it installed but it won't boot, or are you have trouble getting it installed?

I have the same problem i get it installed but it won't boot.
I have installed Linux OS for the first time in my life.
HELP PLEASE

can you give us all the specs on your computer and what you set your hardware to. ie graphics mouse keyboard and any other things connected..
also have you let the installer probe and left the settings to default or have you changed some things..
even a mouse change can cause havick if its not 100% the correct one. i have one that suppose to be logitech and its not really.. just taiwan labels..
