How much space does Mandriva LE 2005 take up on the hard drive?
I have a 3gb hard drive (i know lol) and I want to put Mandriva LE 2005 on it. I was wondering if I had enough space to do this. And if I do, how much space will I have left for otrher programs and files. Thanks

Hi there - Your chances aren't good. I found that Mandriva 2006 takes up less room that 2005, and my system files alone occupy between 9-12 GBs, so you need to think about a new hdd or Damn Small Linux.
But long live small hdds. I have a Quantum Bigfoot somewhere which is 4GBs .... and it's sitting in a box somewhere doing nothing.

2005 hd space
Mandrake likes about 3gb. If you're careful - about 2.2 - 2.6gb, but as mentioned before, that leaves practically nothing for expanding.
You can pickup 20gb hds for about $35 nowadays
