Help with Firefox & internet in general
Hello,
I am new to Linux, and am still learning my way around.
I searched around this site but didn't have much luck to my question; so if someone could reply with the answer or the thread with the answer I would be very grateful.
It seems that Firefox only opens some pages.
For instance, it opens
mozilla.org
reference.com
sourceforge.net
but not
google.com
amsn.sourceforge.net
For the pages that won't open it instantly says "Connection refused when contacting *URL*"
The pages that do load, however, load very slowly.
So, I tried using Konqueror, and it loaded every single page fine and quickly. But, any .net passports didn't work. Not even the Forgot Password page (which only requires an email and an image verification). Not even Kopete!
What's going on?
Thanks in advance!

There's a little trick you can use with Firefox. I had a similar problem once and this solved it. I don't know if it'll work for you as well, but worth a go:
Turn off the IPv6:
* type about:config in the Navbar/address bar and hit Enter
* then look for network.dns.disableIPv6 - right-click and toggle to true
* restart Firefox
* try to connect
Hope this helps.I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it. - Pablo Picasso

Yes! Thank you very much, disabling IPv6 solved it.
