I have a 56 k modem which run perfectly under mepis. In mandriva 2006 it is very very slow.I tried settings on the firewall but to no good.Read the forums but could not find a cure for my problem. I reinstalled mandriva and the first time it works but if i restart the problem is back again. So slow it wont even start a webpage. Back on mepis now till i can solve my problem. Any help would be appreciated. Not an expert in linux

some people report that by turning off ipv6, they can get rid of the slowdown. there are a few threads on this forum about the problem.
Also, does this slow browsing happen with all browsers?Life is complex, it has a real part and an imaginary part.

Open /etc/modprobe.conf and add
alias net-pf-10 off
to the file. Save and check again.Windows free since 2002 | computing since 1984
