The default music player on my Mandriva 2006 is amarok. I find it a little cumbersome to use, I am more familiar with xmms (and winamp before it).

So I urpmi-ed to install xmms, went fine. I can run xmms from the command line both by itself and as in "xmms (PATH TO FILE)".

But when I set konqueror to open audio files automatically with xmms, the xmms skin popsup for two seconds (frozen) then kills itself silently. When I set it back to amarok, amarok works fine.

Any hints please ? Thanks.
