modem issue - mandriva free 2006

Hi folks,

I've installed Mandriva free 2006 and am having issues getting on to the net. I'm using eagle-usb thats provided with the package. However the modem doesnt seem to be operational (I did manage to get this running previsouly under 10.1 so know that the modem can work with linux).

I've done eagleconfig and am told

/usr/sbin/pppd - no such file
erro reading info about service eagle-usb: no such file or directory

There was a bugfixed package for the eagle-usb uploaded in december. Try the new package, maybe it helps.

As I'm unable to connect via linux, any ideas how I can get hold of this package??

Download it in windows or mac or whatever you use currently, then copy it to e.g. a usb-stick. From there, copy the file to your Mandriva system and double click the file. That should be all you have to do.

Sorry not a very clear response on my behalf. I was actually wondering how to get these rpms as there was no link to where I could download these.

Anyway I have downloaded and updaed (rpm -Uvh xxx.rpm), and rebooted. ppp0 interface still fails on boot
