    2006 is a newer version of 10.1 that has newer applications, many bugs corrected, better harware support etc. I really suggest using 2006. But when you install it with a KDE desktop, do not install the KAT desktop search package (or remove it later), it slows down many computers.

    I am using the Gnome desktop and I am very satisfied with that release.
