Can't find my "display"
I had a trouble free installation onto my Averatec laptop, it dual-boots fine, Mandriva or XP, no problems.
When I get to the command prompt in Mandriva, I can't get to a desktop environment. I've tried startx, startkde, and startgnome(?).
All three return errors that more or less state that it can't find my display. I can't remember the exact syntax, but it dumps me back to the command line.
I haven't monkeyed with Linux in a few years, so I'm pretty rusty (I don't even remember how to edit files)...
Help? (and I apologize if this has been asked, I searched the forum and didn't see anything similar.
Thanks,
Adam
