How to recover lost data CD/DVD?

I have a DVD witch is a little bit damaged, when i put it into a cdrom drive all is fine, but when i copy a files, it can't read a lot of them. So maybe you can tell me, how to recover lost data (what ever how, using programms or ...)

    any idea would be apreciated!

I haven't tried it myself but this site might be worth looking at. It's a scary subject and might depend on your file system. Most recovery tools seem to be designed for ext2 / ext3. I suppose you would need to try copying the files from your dvd into a folder and then running the appropriate tools.
