please post the contents of /etc/fstab

you can view this by opening a terminal and

    less /etc/fstab

Which version of Mandrake/Mandrivia is it?

    Did you read this?

i kept going in,and restarting my pc, and ending session till i could go back

After that i must have found a good libdvdcss, because it actually installed.

Hi - you will also need to install libdvdread . Not sure where you can get this as an rpm, but if you get stuck it's not hard to install from source.

Sometimes getting dvds to play can seem very hard, but in the end it's not too bad. Just keeping posting your questions and you'll get there.

Xine comes with your Mandriva installation (as far as I remember) so it should be lurking somewhere on your hard drive or on your installation disk.
