I am going to Linux FULL TIME!!!! I need to make sure that I can still use my CD Burner, and my HP Printer HP PSC 1410

I have Mandriva 2006 and I burned all three discs...what concerns would I have with Burning CD's, playing DVD's and using my Printer?

Your cd burner and printer should work out of the box. To play dvds, follow this guide.

Never used Mandriva, but I think you would have:

-No problems burning CDs
-Manually add some codecs to play commercial DVDs, (or install GeexBox and use it as a stand-alone media player on your PC)
- Problems with HP Printer HP PSC 1410 (search in google, and check http://hpoj.sourceforge.net/suplist.shtml)

it may work out of the book, if not you can install sane.... it will do it.

Okay WHY can I not get XPDF to print to my HP Printer...there is a form I need and it will not print to my scanner...it asks to print to File or Print with Command?

do other things print ok? Does it go to the printer job queue?

I went to KPDF..but I still have some problems printing now....seems like there is some kind of Menu being printed along with the Document...kinda like the toolbar menu is dropped down and being printed???
