    Angry Problems with the internet...

I'm trying to set my internet connection up in mandriva 2006. (I just installed this morning ) For the most part I'm a linux noob, can anyone tell me the procedure for setting up an internet connection (I think it's like eth0) in mandriva 2006? I'm using an ethernet cord, not wireless by the way.

can you give us a better idea of how you connect to internet e.g.:
internet -> modem -> ethernet card -> my PC
internet -> modem -> router -> ethernet card -> my PC
Life is complex, it has a real part and an imaginary part.

yeah sorry, it was a rather newbish post :P Anyway, my internet is set up as follows:

"Internet" -> Router -> HUB -> My PC

EDIT: after looking at the back of my computer, it doesnt go into an ethernet card or something, it just goes right to the ethernet port on my motherboard.
